Name: Dave Goss Comment: Remembering the listening booths and the cardboard sleeves that were given with purchase of all records.
Comment: I live in mid Wales but just bought a dozen Elvis singles and EPs on eBay. The 45s, from 1958 to 1964 all came in cardboard sleeves with the Brown's stamp. Just did a quick Google search to see if there was anything about Brown's and found this interesting site.
Name: Dave Harwood Comment: I found a classified ad in the ‘Reading Standard’ dated 27th July 1962:
“VACANCY for young Lady in Gramophone Record Department; some experience preferred but not essential. Good wages and conditions, present holiday arrangements honoured. BROWNS, 39 Friar Street, Reading. Call or phone 52916.”
