I found this advert in the 'Coventry Evening Telegraph' dated 16th February 1957: “See our stocks of the latest Records - Brain and Son, Ltd., the H.M.V. Agents, 1 Primrose Street, Coventry, and 80 Warwick Road, Kenilworth.”

I have been trying to find a reference to this store. I bought my first LP there ‘Free Live’ can’t remember the year but it must have been around 1971/2

Comment: Long before Discotrak I think the only place you could get records from was Brains TV shop in Warwick Road. I think it might now be the fish and chip bar. I only remember it was on a corner, but we are talking early 1960s. They rented out TVs to half the town and had a small record department.
