Bogart's, a chain of record and video stores, was owned by Peter Lee, who also ran Music Market Oxford in the High Street and Cornmarket. Bogart's operated multiple stores, including locations in Abingdon, Bicester, Banbury, Kidlington, and Headington, in addition to Oxford. Peter Lee later became Managing Director of Ritz Video, which opened 730 stores across the country

I found this advert in the 'Banbury Guardian' dated 8th November 1984:
“BOGARTS RECORDS AND VIDEO require a MANAGER AND AN ASSISTANT MANAGER FOR THEIR NEW STORE, OPENING IN BANBURY SOON. BE WARNED! WE WORK LONG AND HARD HOURS. Applications to: P. R. Lee, Managing Director, LEE LEISURE LIMITED, 6 The Causeway, Bicester, Oxon.”
... and this in the 6th December 1984 edition:
“Say price, say choice, say quality, say Bogart's - 40 HIGH STREET, BANBURY. BOGARTS RECORDS & VIDEO. BOGART'S OPENS IN BANBURY! Oxon's leading video club with VHS films for all tastes and an excellent selection of LPs, singles, blank audio and video tapes, cassettes, compact disc, computer games, posters and assorted leisure products ALL KEENLY PRICED : Bogart's: Home entertainment at its best.”
