I found an advert in the ‘Middlesex County Times’ dated 26th November 1965:
“Records & Record Tokens are a MUST for Christmas. BENSTEDS, 209 UXBRIDGE ROAD, WEST EALING. Telephone EAL 0379, 3522.”

I found an article in the ‘Middlesex County Times’ dated 12th November 1965:
“A new invention, the gramophone, was coming into its own, cylinder records, then single discs, followed by double sided discs, electrical recordings and finally the long-playing records of to-day. In 1912 the family partnership was dissolved and my father, Ernest Bensted broke away from the shops at Harlesden and Richmond. From thenceforward, Bensted's of Ealing was a single, independent shop and has remained so ever since. Ernest Bensted and his wife Maud Bensted, who is still a director, ran the business in their own individual manner.”
