I found this piece in the 'Northamptonshire Evening Telegraph' dated 4th August 2000:
“BARRY Simcoe, with his stall full of records, is Mr. Music Man for shoppers at Kettering Market every Saturday. He has sold records and CDs there for 31 years and has been a collector since buying his first record at the age of seven. Barry, 56, who lives in Kettering with wife Tanya, even started a mail order service when he was just 16. He said: “Anne Berger, who sold books, gave me part of her stall because I took over for her when she went to America. When she retired, about 15 years ago, I took over.” His day starts about 6.30 am, loading the car, to arrive at the market about an hour later. Then he has to unload and arrange the stall with about 1,500 45s, 2,000 LPs and 1,000 CDs as well as a good stock of videos. Barry shares the 24ft stall with his son Jonathan, 34, who sells fantasy figures and games. He is ready by 8.30 am to 9 am, then it's all systems go until 5 pm, when the loading and unloading starts again. “It's a 12-hour day and I'm ready to put my feet up at the end of it, he said.”
