Never actually lived in Bristol, but went for a weekend in 1998 and discovered Bang Bang, and went on to buy quite a bit for them over the phone, pre internet! Always had a banging selection of the tougher stuff, emerging Euro trance, Nu NRG and so on. Quality shop.

... and this on a Discogs Groups webpage: “Heard a rumour that BangBang Records has now gone (have just checked and it did in fact close in August 06) but the owner, Mike Shaw, sells vinyl on Discogs so if you see his name anywhere on here, he's your (BangBang) man (nice chap by the way).”
We had 3 locations on Colston St over the years: 76 as time is right records in the very early 99’s no80 (also as time is right) went on to become bangbang in 94 then we moved to no80 where we had a refit by Frank McGoldrick.
We sold mostly new dance music from US,UK & Euro house, progressive, garage, through to techno, breakbeat and some old school funk, soul, disco, hip hop
We were also the only cool cuts shop in the southwest.
We had an incredible variety of fabulous customers some of which we are still in contact with to this day, many became great friends! If you ever bought one of our bangbang white labels no doubt you’ll still have it in your collection.
