Comment: Hi Brownowl, I worked on the stall opposite Baileys at about the same time. The manager of Baileys was a guy named Paul who was a friend of my sister-in-law who was manageress of Pimms Pets (where I worked).

I found this announcement in the 'Birmingham Mail' dated 9th December 1978:
“Meet CHILD at Baileys Records, Market Hall, Bull Ring Centre on Monday, 11th December at 4.15 p.m. to sign copies of their latest hit 'Still The One' and 'Child - The First Album'. See CHILD live at Birmingham Town Hall, on Sunday, 10th December.”
... and this piece in the 'Sutton Coldfield News' dated 19th February 1988:
“Phil Middleton, the General Manager of Andy Cash Records & Tapes, began selling records in 1971 for Baileys Records in the Bull Ring Market.”
... and this advert in the 'Sandwell Evening Mail' dated 16th October 1990:
“RECORD SHOP Assistant required for small busy city centre shop. Must be experienced in the trade. Apply in writing to Baileys Records, 12-14 Bull Ring Centre, Birmingham B5 4PI.”
