I found this advert in the 'Cheltenham News' dated 16th March 1989:
“Whatever your music tastes, Badlands has got it all. Call in and see our wide range of singles, albums, cassettes and compact discs. 11 ST. GEORGE'S PLACE, CHELTENHAM GLOS. GL50 3LA.”

Lovely independent shop run a by a huge Bruce Springsteen fan who ran the European fan club from upstairs in the the beautiful Georgian building.

I did my work experience here from school, best thing ever. They let me choose a free record at the end of week, huge dilemma.

After much consideration I chose Happy Mondays Bummed with the lurid inside cover. I still have it.

Later they stocked all the latest rave records, tickets and tapes upstairs. Well known you could 'allegedly' go in and swap a few pharmaceuticals for the latest 12 inches.

Last time I was in Cheltenham, Badlands was still there. Respect.
