Comment: Sometime around 1984/1985 Inner Sleeve Records & Tapes opened at 50 Carter Gate, Newark. They also had a shop in Tamworth. They stocked a similar range of product to Pride / R&K and were rivals in the 1980s/1990s.

I found this in the 'Coleshill Chronicle' dated 14th November 1986: “Inner Sleeve RECORDS, TAPES, COMPACT DISCS, T-SHIRTS & BOOKS at Low Prices! TOP 40 SINGLES only £1.45 each. ALL COMPACT DISCS Only £9.99 each. (All offers limited and subject to availability). INNER SLEEVE RECORDS, 6 George Street, Tamworth.”
...and this in the 'Newark Advertiser' dated 23rd December 1988: “Low prices at Inner Sleeve RECORDS, TAPES, CD's. ALL (SINGLE) COMPACT DISCS ONLY £9.99 EACH. ALL LP's AND TAPES ARE AT LOW PRICES. WHY PAY MORE? TOP 40 SINGLES ONLY £1.60 EACH. RECORD CASES • VIDEOS • POSTERS • CALENDARS • T SHIRTS. 50 CARTERGATE, NEWARK. TELEPHONE 707319.”
...and this in the 'Tamworth Herald' dated 20th March 1991:
“Charts compiled by INNER SLEEVE RECORDS, Victoria Road, Tamworth.”
