Rita Harrington
Can anyone remember a Record Shop in Douglas Street off of Chapter Street? I bought my first seven inch single there in 1957/8.
Wake Up Little Susie by the Everley Brothers.
Yes I remember, and have a brown cardboard box from that record shop that 10” 78’s were kept in and also Elvis Presley 78’s with original record sleeve.
Yes I used to buy my records there Rita. My first one was Be-bop-a-lula by Gene Vincent. I lived in Warwick Way and then moved to a prefab in Deans Place.
Also Sainsbury’s in Chapter Street where they patted the butter into portions.
I lived in Vauxhall Bridge Road. Happy days.
