I found this piece in 'The Stage' dated 3rd February 1949: “A move to beat the ban, imposed by Phonographic Performances Ltd. on the use of gramophone music in theatres has been made by the Modern Recording Company, who have engaged three composers to write original music, records of which will be circulated to theatres throughout the country.”
