best record shop in Chester back in the 70's if they didn't have it in stock they would get it for you. ( Sept 6, 2016)

I remember Migrant Mouse well as just about the only proper record shop in Chester in the early 1970s when I was at the King's School and starting to buy records. I've just dug out my copy of Paul McCartney's Red Rose Speedway (the album with My Love on it) because it has been re-released in Macca's remastered archive series. I noted on the inner sleeve that I bought it at Migrant Mouse on 9 May 1973. Aaah - such sweet memories!

About May 1979, I bought Migrant Mouse off Chas. I think he went to South America. I expanded the posters, badges, introduced pop and rock t-shirts etc. Also sold tickets to the Deeside Icering Shows: Blondie, Police, Jam, Eric Clapton, Bob Marley and more. After about 3 years I sold the shop to Dave - who did the records in Chester market

Always helpful and informative. The shop also sold fabulous posters. I bought Salvador Dali's 'Sleep' there, which I still have to this day.

I grew up in Flint, North Wales, and my nearest source of decent records was a shop in Chester called "Migrant Mouse".

There was a sit-down space invaders down the steps at the back of the record shop. I got pretty good on it!
