Comment: I first started working at Harlequin Records when it opened in 1973/4 in the old Peacock Way. It started out as a two-storey shop with classical upstairs, that didn't last long and upstairs was closed. I remember we were in the Chronicle and Echo newspaper once for displaying the Never Mind the Bollocks... Here's The Sex Pistols in the window, flag-like.

Harlequin were bought out by Our Price, I believe there were 12 Harlequin stores, and this one became the Northampton branch of Our Price in 1981, in Peacock Way, then moving to Abington Street two years later.
