I don't think anyone has mentioned Grimwades yet, the 2nd hand shop near St Davids Hospital. They sold 2nd hand 45s for 2/6 each (12.5p). There must have been a DJ supplying them, as many of their 45s were promo copies. I still have dozens of promos like this bought from Grimwades...

I lived not far from there used to alway frequent it in the sixties buying 2nd hand records along with anything all the other second hand shops had on them

I found this advert in the 'Ponypridd Observer' dated 19th March 1965:
