I found this in the 'Diss Express' dated 6th June 1975: “EXPANSION is the keynote to the continuing success of Attleborough electricians, Gerald A. Lee. The latest phase has been the opening of a new branch shop, which brings to the village of East Marling, for the first time, a comprehensive range of goods and services. The proprietress, Mrs Jessie Lee, said that she was delighted to be further associated with such an enterprising and expanding village. The Attleborough business was founded some 50 years ago by the late Mr Gerald Lee and has dealt with many customers throughout South Norfolk over the years by offering an exceptionally wide range of goods and services. Such will now be available from East Marling. Radios and transistors are available but Lee's are especially proud of their 40 year association with the British Murphy group for whom they act as main agents. Another service at both shops is an extensive range of records and cassettes. Mrs Lee takes a personal pride in the stock of thousands of 45's, LP's, albums and tapes which suit the tastes of old and young alike. All top brands are on show and include EMI, Pye, Polydor, RCA, Decca and CBS. Mrs Lee emphasises that such a selection is not available from any source within a twenty mile radius of Attleborough or East Harling. The Manager, Mr Aubrey Welton, modestly says that he just helps around but further conversation reveals that he just 'popped in' 27 years ago to help out and he stayed to serve his apprenticeship and to take television courses and is now an acknowledged expert in this and all fields of electrical goods.”
...and this in the 5th September 1975 edition:
“GERALD A. LEE, ATTLEBOROUGH - Electrical Specialists. RANK - BUSH - MURPHY COLOUR T.V. Hi-fi Experts. Top Record selection.”
...and this advert in the 12th November 1976:
“GERALD A LEE High St., Attleborough 452118. Solve your present problem - Give Record Tokens - 50p to £5. Large selection of records, top singles, cassettes and accessories.”
...and this listing in the 21st April 1978 edition:
“GERALD A. LEE High Street, Attleborough. Telephone: Attleborough 462118.”
...plus this advert in the 1st December 1978 edition:
“For that special gift for HIM OR HER Come to GERALD A. LEE HIGH STREET, ATTLEBOROUGH to see our selection of LIGHTING FITTINGS, HEATING, RADIOS, T.V.'S ELECTRICAL GOODS, RECORDS AND TAPES, ETC.”
