With a “huge stock” of new and used CDs and vinyl, Dead Wax were there at least from the mid-80s to the late 90s. One online post noted their “best selection of thrash metal ever committed to vinyl” but that “unfortunately the owner passed away and it closed”.

... and this piece in the 4th January 1993 edition:
“ANGRY retailers are counting the cost of Huddersfield's Byram Arcade being closed on one of the busiest days of the year. They claim that they have lost hundreds of pounds in business because Kirklees Council did not open the arcade on Bank Holiday Monday. As shoppers poured into the town centre looking for bargains the gates of the arcade in Westgate remained firmly closed. One customer travelled from Manchester to buy a rare £125 record but returned home disappointed and empty-handed on finding the gates locked. Mr. Morgan Kruck, proprieter of Dead Wax records, said he was extremely annoyed by the whole incident. He said he had received a telephone call from the council asking whether he wanted to open but, after telling them he did, he received a letter saying the arcade would be closed.”
