Looking closely at the shop bag for Alleycats Record Store, I noticed that the address was 4 St. Gregory’s Alley, Norwich (not St. George Street), which is probably why it was called Alleycats!
I couldn’t find a photo of Alleycats, but did find one showing the parade of shops where it was located at this link:

I used to frequent Alleycats back in the late 1970’s into the 80’s.
Used to absolutely love rummaging through the racks and finding many great records, it seemed like a real treasure trove to me and certainly helped to expand my record collection.
I even bought my first ever CD from here when they were a relatively new format, they’d then got a few in (second hand obviously) and I bought one even though at that time I didn’t even own a cd player .
I still remember those days, I think the guy who ran the shop was called Mick and I also think he may have been an Elvis Presley tribute performer in his spare time.
Oh happy days indeed.
